The latest addition to the crunked up space collective Cosmic Bridge is Moresounds. This 4-track is so difficult to place anywhere it’s worth as much to listen to it is as it is to read about this chaotic sonic adventure.
Weeda plays with a dub reggae sample and the endless temporal effects typical of dub. Combine that with a wonky bassline sitting atop tremendous sub bass pressure and you’ve got a tune ripe for a foggy, fresh-scented club. Smoke da weed. Don’t smoke da seed.
Analog Steak sounds as if gangster aliens from the future sent a transmission to a naive planet whose receiver caught as much interference as it did a crunchy industrial drumset with hyperphased supersaws. Every frequency seems to dance at once in time with cut-up intergalactic swagger. This tune is mental.
Shtrakstep sounds as much like dubstep from another planet would as any tune that says it is. Pitch bent supersaws get an LFO filter upgrade to hyperspace superwobbles. Creepy ethereal bass vibes beamed to your ear drums through the twisting nether — feels like Kryptonite.
No Coke rounds the frantic misadventure out with some more sensi. Massive 808 sub stabs provide a backbone to shifty hi-hats and aggy lazer beam wobbles. Aliens heard the 2007 sound, smoked weed, and came back with more after sitting in a studio in a hyperbolic timechamber.
